I have 3 cats (and over my lifetime have probably had close to 20), so I know a little bit about them. First of all, your cat is still a kitten (some cats, such as the Turkish Van, don't mature completely until they are several years old). Just like children, they change over time. Yours may just be becoming more vocal, and that might be his personality. Some cats (Siamese, Burmese, etc) are VERY vocal. Our Burmese will "talk" (meow) to you anytime you look at her and say something (it could be anything, like "car", "refridgerator", "kitty" -- she has no idea WHAT we're saying, she just knows that we're saying SOMETHING). We have another cat that I've NEVER heard meow in the 4 years we've had her. Each and every cat is different and they all have different personalities. As long as you know he's healthy, I wouldn't worry about it. In kitty years he's just an adolescent and I would bet he will settle down eventually. In the meantime, just enjoy his company, as it appears he really enjoys yours!

My cat never shuts up, sometimes wakes me in the middle of the night - I think she just likes to hear herself talk lol. Some cats are just naturally more vocal. I can barely have a conversation on the phone without someone asking if I'm torturing her cause she just meows and meows, she's a chatty kitty. If I think she needs attention, I attend to her and she still meows, I feed her, she meows, I hold her, she meows, I play with her, she meows. I've just come to accept that she loves to meow.

Hi, He is talking to you. He has found out that when he miaow's at you you respond and as you know cat's are not daft so that's he's way of getting your attention. Just give him lots of cuddles and love which i am sure you are doing already.

You are not missing anything apart from this is a cry for attention, my four year old does it all the time. So long as you give him a cuddle, he will start to settle down. It also depends on how long you have had him for? Could he be pining for his old family? If you are still worried go and see a vet
xx

do no longer flow the nutrition and water dish next to the muddle container. Cats do no longer want to devour suitable next to the place they relieve themselves. it could make the difficulty worse. you're able to be able to objective getting a 2nd muddle container. perhaps he now needs one for pee and the different for poo. Has there been any transformations recently contained in the relatives? A canines delivered in, somebody shifting out--or in, any arguing, something distinctive? Cats can react to any kind of issues and instruct their displeasure by using soiling exterior the container. another component, are the edges of the muddle container severe? at times as cats become previous they get arthritic, merely like people. It the edges of their container are too severe it may desire to harm their joints to bounce out and in. you're able to be able to desire to get a shallow cardboard container and stick it in a pair of 32 gallon trash luggage after which fill with muddle to work out if he will use a decrease sided container.

Our cat, who was also very vocal in genral, did that and we finally figured out that he just wanted to lay down with one of us for a while. He liked to lay down on our chest or belly and just meditate for about fifteen minutes while we stroked him or layed quietly with him. Then, when he was done he'd get up and go about his business. He required it each afternoon around 3pm. Maybe he just wants some quiet love time with you. Cats love to bond. By ten months, some of the kitten might start to be going out of him and he is ready to calm down a bit and snuggle more with you.

Maybe he wants to be outside, or maybe he needs some attention.

Also, if he's used to getting a certain treat at a certain time, that may be it.

Think about where it is that he attacks you with his little kitty vocals...

If my kitten attacks me in the kitchen it means one of three things. He want's catnip, catmilk, or he's out of food.

If he does it in the living room or hall, he wants to go out. Etc.

Maybe there is a cat in heat, and he want's to mate.

He wants some love and attention! He's a clingy type of cat. Have you just got him or moved house? Might be afriaid of going out because he'll get lost!

He is probably just talking to you. Cats are more social than their "love me on my terms" attitude might suggest. Just talk back to him (sounds silly at first but it is nice to have someone who listens that well). As you do stuff, talk to him, give him pats as you walk by etc. You are the cat's only connection, he may want a friend but most likely he just wants to talk.
