Cold Air Intake
Exhaust
Headers
Cam Shaft
Rebuild and Bore
Turbo/Super Chargers
Shift Modulator
If you arn't looking to spend big bucks but add a few...get a new muffler...your pipes are fine on a gt, so just spend the 100 and get a flowmaster or magnaflow ect...
Also, and defintatly get a K&N Intake sysem. It's about 200-250 for it. And wont cost anything to install.
If you want to get crazy...get headers and a cam for it. It willl run you in price but it works....
And if you have lots of money, throw a turbo or supercharger in it.
Good luck

Better built - less junk in the car. I had a 1977 Mustang - lasted 16-1/2 yrs. till someone totalled it by not stopping for a Stop sign. Best car I ever had - almost no problems with it. Built to last.

Speed cost money, how fast do you want to go! This is so true.
Your car Stang does 0-60 in around 5.5 sec! Have much faster do you want it to go?
Unless your gonna make it a 1/8 or 1/4 mile car, don't waste your money. I'm not saying don't do reasonable upgrades like exhaust (Magnaflows sound great) but don't expect miracles.
Once again..... SPEED COST MONEY, HOW FAST DO YOU TO GO?

an exhaust maybe, Magnaflow.com has some nice sounding exhausts, Rousch Racing has all kinds of parts from superchargers, exhausts, intakes, intake manifolds, heads, headers... any of the parts listed above will help it go faster there are many parts for the engine that resides in the GT to make it go faster you can start by going to the Ford dealership and asking if you can get Rousch or Saleen speed parts installed because both those companies work directly with the dealers

You can put a turbo on your car and also some new exhaust to.Also you can put an after market carburetor on the car to. You can even put nitrous on the car but that cost allot of money and allot of tuning. A new air intake could help allot.

You can do lots to it! I have a mustang too and I just put a throttle body on it That made it faster .You could also add a intake or performance chip sometimes just little things help too like getting good spark plugs Try these websites:

intake, exhaust, chip....you can do those things without really tearing it apart and you wont loose any reliability with it.
there are lots of things to make it faster, but some are very costly and compromise reliablity.
