Two different things. The Spanish Inquisition was a civilian and clerical court that dealt with cases or complaints brought to its attention by investigators or informers. Note that if they condemned anybody that person was handed over to the civilian authorities to punish.
Jihadists are a paramilitary group or groups motivated by a religious cause. Where they are not state sponsored they tend to make their own rules within their particular interpretation of Koranic teaching.

No you can't compare this. It's a different cause. Islamic Jihadists kill more people in a year as the Spanish Inquisition did in its 350-year lifespan. "only" about 4,000 people were put to the stake.

In this early stage of the Spanish Inquisition, Old Christians and Jews used the tribunals as a weapon against their converso enemies. Since the Inquisition’s sole purpose was to investigate conversos, the Old Christians had nothing to fear from it. Their fidelity to the Catholic faith was not under investigation (although it was far from pure). As for the Jews, they were immune to the Inquisition. Remember, the purpose of an inquisition was to find and correct the lost sheep of Christ’s flock. It had no jurisdiction over other flocks.

Not really, Islamic Jihadists are basicly terrorists, it's on a political plane and they didn't really wanted to convert anyone.

Spanish inquisition however, wanted to convert everyone in a religious plane.

No, because the whole point of the Inquisition was to convert people (and other sinister things)....if you converted (repented) they let you go (usually). Jihadists kill everybody. They do not seek to convert, they seek to destroy.

No, that would be a short sided equivalent. It is a much more complex answer then that. Good try, but I have yet to find a true equivalent. It is a very hard question.
