I think that there are always gun crimes going on which affect black and white people but it doesn't always make the news headlines.
Its only on the newspapers now because David Cameron has been making comments on the governments approach to gun crime. There is so much news, good and bad and its the media who decides what gets in the newspapers. The media can search for stories which will support the headline they want to make.

Operation Trident was started by the Metropolitan Police to investigate black-on-black murders/shootings. A lot of their work is spent investigating why A shot B, and for what reason. Look further into Operation Trident and the truth will confront you.

Every single news report I've seen on the subject talk a lot about the increase in black-on-black crime, how this is affecting the black community, about the actions now being taken by Operation Trident (which they point out was set up to deal with black gun crime), etc etc etc.
So you appear to be talking rubbish.

i have noticed that. My friend suggests giving them assault rifles and proper firearms training. Most of the young afro-caribbean males involved in this area of crime tend to hold pistols sideways as portrayed in rap videos and those pathetic macho 'gangsta' films. This has the effect of making pistol shots 'fly low' with the end result the people they shoot at usually get hit in the legs. If they had proper training and better weapons they might finish each other off in a week or so. Whichever ones are left we just go round in an armoured car or tank running over

It could be bias in the Media like in the US, they always point out black crime and focus on that, when in fact violent happend with eveyone everywhere....it easy to blame the group of people consider the "other" then to try to slove the problem. If U aren't part of the soluntion then you are part of the problem buddy.

Thats because everything you say means your being racist these days if I got in an argument about a currant bun with a black or asian and I was white it would be a racist attack. Its pathetic.

So what do you think is the problem? I can't solely be some genetic obsession with firearms. What socioeconomic factors do you think play into this phenomenon. You sound smart enough. You should be able to look a little deeper than to just write it off as a race issue.
By the way, I'm black and have never owned a gun, have never been arrested, have a college degree, have one child by my fiance and have never been on welfare. I actually know many other blacks who are just as successful.
Just wanted to make sure you didn't think this was a BLACK thing. It has to do with upbringing and economics.

I have noticed. Many people do not notice this because the BBC do their best to avoid mentioning "black" or "asian" when discussing criminals. My local paper used to report on muggings with a full description of the suspect; but now these descriptions are absent.

I'm not aware of that, because I don't have access to up-to-date, reliable statistics. Can you point us to some?
