You can use any kind of exterior latex paint. You don't have to prime and you don't have to spend a fortune on brick paint that is just latex exterior paint packaged to remove $$$ from your wallet.

It is a good idea to power wash the brick first.

You also don't need to seal the paint after. You do, however need to make certain that the temperature outdoors is not lower than 10 degrees farenheit, as the paint will peel away. Also, don't do it after a rainstorm. Wait at least 2 days after rain to paint.

We do this all the time.

Brick paint. It comes in a metal can. You can get it in a bunch of colors. Make sure it says "exterior brick paint".

Don't forget to shake it!

thats the idea of brick...low upkeep , why would you want to have to paint every few years...thats worse than painting mahogany woodwork...
