racism this is practiced by all people, black as well as white. It comes from ignorance, when we don't understand one another then we find fault with them. This is pretty well true about a lot of different things but here we are talking about people. One thing that is very clear to me is that we as people aren't willing to swallow a little bit and educate people. When a black person stands in front of a group of folks and uses the N word he/she is showing disrespect for them selves and the rest of the black race. As a black person you would not tolerate a white person to say the same, but find it perfectly OK to use any of a variety of offensive word describing whites. People need to stop being thoughtless and consider every ones feelings this would go a long way toward reducing racism.
It is kind of like a tooth ache. If you have a tooth ache it hurts like the dickens but if some one knows that you have a tooth ache they don't pay much attention to it, for you it is a big deal and for them it is nothing.
Note; this was taken from the rules to put a letter in the news letter shown below.
I know some people see us as coming from different races,
ie; yellow, black or white.......but in here we are all the color of
awe........I know you have that look on your face and are saying
under you breath...AWE? what color is AWE? Ok I will tell you
very quickly we are all the color of awe as this is short for awesome.
We were created in God's likeness.....and that is AWESOME. I don't
need to tell you but discrimination is not tolerated in here.
If you us this, and you may, give credit to, Freedom F. Perkins Sr.

Racism is rather broad because there has been racism since near the beginning of time between all kinds of people. There are the Palestinians against the Jews, the Catholics against the Protestants, and in the New Testament Jesus gave the example of the Good Samaritan because the Jews and Samaritans just did not get along. Good luck on your paper sweetie.

In South Africa, during apartheid, black land owners were stripped of their land by whites. You could write a book on the ailing Land Reform Act in South Africa. Or perhaps you can write about the ongoing civil war in Sri Lanka. Although the racism in the United States is prevalent, in the US it takes a back seat to other countries. Please take no offense but every other kid in your class is going to talk about slavery, Rosa Parks, the Underground Highway, Abraham Lincoln, Lyndon Johnson and all the rest of the story-lines in American history. Look at other countries around the world and see what they're still going through today - you will be surprised and it will blow your teacher away.

Racism has existed throughout human history. It may be defined as the hatred of one person by another -- or the belief that another person is less than human -- because of skin color, language, customs, place of birth or any factor that supposedly reveals the basic nature of that person. It has influenced wars, slavery, the formation of nations, and legal codes.
During the past 500-1000 years, racism on the part of Western powers toward non-Westerners has had a far more significant impact on history than any other form of racism (such as racism among Western groups or among Easterners, such as Asians, Africans, and others). The most notorious example of racism by the West has been slavery, particularly the enslavement of Africans in the New World (slavery itself dates back thousands of years). This enslavement was accomplished because of the racist belief that Black Africans were less fully human than white Europeans and their descendants.

Why not choose a particular topic to write about and their experience with racism. Black single women with children would be a narrowed down topic to discuss. Give your views as to why this can be detrimental for a young black female to get pregnant and the obstacles and racism she must face trying to rear her children alone. It can be about all teenage girls no matter the skin color, and the predjudice they experience being unwed mothers.

good topic to write about since it's so prevalent in society today (and not just discrimination against black people.. it's found in all races).. why dont you write about that? Look up all of the different kinds of people and define the racial slurs used for each? then debunk the assumptions connected with each slur. Example: polish people: pollack -used to mean that Polish people are not intelligent. Then you could cite different Polish inventors, etc.

Actually racism is a very good topic, why dont you write about Racism and ignorance. Ignorance is when one person from one culture makes a comment about another culture without understanding their culture. Racism is when they know that persons culture and still makes those comments.

You can still use it but be specific. Racism in politics, college acceptance, housing, medical care, disabilities, gender racism, etc. Back it up with hard facts to prove your point.
