I've always had this problem. Where my earlobe meets the side of my face has a small split, that crusts a lots but never seems to heal. Its been like this for years and I'm not sure what it is. Any ideas on how to fix this or why its doing this?

It's only about a millimeter (mm) of 'splitage'
It doesn't bleed, it only crusts over alot.

You most likely have "Contact Dermatitis"(allergies), most women are afflicted with this but put up with it.
I had this also and my earlobes eventually split completely due to constant rubbing when irritated, which consulted in more bleeding. Each time it bled, a bit more got torn over time.
Solution: Had to sew up my earlobes by Plastic Surgeon. Now I only wear the ones not bothering me.

Put Neem oil on it. It will cure it. You have a very minor fungal infection at this crease.
Internally, consider taking 1 neem bark capsule, 1 turmeric capsule and 1 milk thistle capsule per day for 1 month. Also, cut out all or as much sugar as humanly possible.
