And now for something completely different... Why on earth have we not had a multitude of Jehovah's Witnesses answering this Q? Millions of them believed for over 100 years that Jesus Christ came (for the second time) in October 1914. Way back in 1876 their 1st President, Pastor Russell, wrote an article called "Gentile Times: When Do They End?" He said, "At the commencement of our Christian era, 606 years of this time had passed, (70 years captivity, and 536 from Cyrus to Christ) which deducted from 2520, would show that the seven times will end in A.D. 1914; when Jerusalem [the literal city] shall be delivered forever.. When Gentile Governments shall have been dashed to pieces; when God shall have poured out of his fury upon the nations..."

The calculation he used was based on interpretations of Daniel's prophecy about "seven Gentile times," linked to Jesus' prophecy about his return in Luke 21:24. In 1982 (106 years after Russell's article) his successors were STILL using the same formula: "So God's rulership... was cut down in 607 B.C.E... a period of time began that Jesus Christ later referred to as 'the appointed times of the nations'... According to Daniel 4:16,23 these 'appointed times' would be 'seven times'. How long are these...? In Revelation 12:6&14, we learn that 1,260 days are equal to "a time and times and half a time." That is a total of three and a half times. So "a time" would be equal to 360 days. Therefore, "seven times" would be 7 times 360, or 2,520 days. Now if we count a day for a year, according to a Bible rule, the "seven times" equal 2,520 years... "The appointed times of the nations" began in the year 607 B.C.E. So by counting 2,520 years from that date, we come down to 1914 C.E... This means that Jesus Christ began to rule as king of God's heavenly government in 1914... Yet a person may ask: 'If Christ has already returned to rule in his Father's kingdom, why do we not see him?'" and there follows a chapter showing this second coming was INvisible (because, clearly, nobody had seen him in 1914! And the 607 date is at odds with history, but they dismiss that inconvenient fact.)

So that's how the JWs worked it out. However, to add to the confusion, they now say Jesus is to come a THIRD time, and it will be "on clouds of invisibility" but seems to be a visible coming, You'd better ask them, though, because I can't work that one out.

"But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up." 2 Peter 3:10

We do not know the day or hour of the Lord's coming. We just know we need to be ready.

BTW: this passage indicated that the earth and everything on it will be burned up. Notice is does NOT say after 1000 years. There will be no 1000 year reign when the Lord returns.

Jesus said the Father had witheld the knowledge of it from Him., so we're not likely to be allowed the revelation of the date. Paul says in 2 Corinthians that he was given revelations that he wasn't allowed to tell men.

Jesus also said to believers to be careful to be living as you ought as otherwise it could be most embarassing and a time of great shame for you.

He also said to look for signs of its coming. e.g "Jerusalem will be trampled on by the gentiles until the times of the gentiles are fulfilled" (Luke 21:24). That probably was when Jerusalem got taken by Israel in the last century, although I suppose Orthodox Jews will never feel Jerusalem is restored until the Dome of the Rock mosque cunningly placed on top of their ruined temple gets relocated. (That could happen if the Arabs invade Israel again.)

There's also teaching about the antichrist, who comes first, in 2 Thessalians and Revelation.

The prophecies in Revelation seem really hard to understand. Isaac Newton wasted many years on them; as a unitarian he did not even have the Holy Spirit to help him though. Some of the popular stuff in the media on the Last Days may be completely incorrect.

No it can not be calculated. Christ has all power and don't you think that if he would allow that to be calculated people would wait until the last minute to be saved? He clearly says that not even the angels know of his second coming just know that he is coming, Like a thief in the night

no longer inevitably a heretic, yet in simple terms as you assert, "flat out incorrect." Being lifeless incorrect approximately prophecy isn't in itself heresy, despite the fact that this is immature and must be seen as proud, counting on how this is suggested.

The Bible plainly says that the angels and Jesus do not know when the end will be.
After the last 'seal' is opened, God will give Jesus the command to come get his children....

It's always going to be a date in the future no matter when the question is asked because it will never happen. I wouldn't hold your breath.
