Sign up for one session with a personal trainer and gets suggestions about what activities to do and how to do them properly. You don't want to get injured, that would defeat the purpose, right?!

Meanwhile, more exercise always helps, including taking the stairs (both up and down) whenever you can.

Squat thrusts
How to do... squat thrusts

Squat thrusts are a great way of working the lower limbs.

They are extremely tiring and a good way of building up your muscular endurance and working the heart and circulatory system.

STEP ONE

Put your hands on the floor, shoulder width apart. Stretch your legs out behind you as if you are about to do a press up.

STEP TWO

In one movement, bring both legs into a tuck position, bending the knees into the chest.

Return to position one.

The exercise should be repeated 10-15 times using quick movements.

You can also do alternate leg squat thrusts (running squats) - even more tiring!

Start with the left leg. Bring the right leg forward as you bring your left leg back.

RepLunges
How to do... lunges

Lunges are designed to help increase the strength in your upper leg and tone your bottom.

Some people like to do them using no weights at all.

Others prefer to rest a barbell behind their neck or even hold dumbbells in their hand to increase the intensity.

Don't use weights if you're under 16.

STEP ONE

Stand with your legs together and then lunge forward with your left leg so your leg is right out in front of you.

STEP TWO

As you are lunging, bend your knee and flex your hip so your rear leg is almost in contact with the floor.

Make sure you land on the heel of your front foot first and then bring the front of your foot down.

STEP THREE

Finally, return to your starting position by extending the hip and knee of the left leg.

Now try it with your right leg lunging and repeat ten or fifteen times.

eat these 10-15 times for one set.

I am a rugby this is the best way to build up your legs. Good luck.

Regards...

Please do not listen to those who suggest cardio for building muscle in your legs. Remember that cardio can be very catabolic (i.e. destroys muscle rather than builds it). Squats, lunges ans deadlifts with heavy weights + a good protein and hi GI carb combo drink post your workout to restore your muscles should do the trick.
