I am Australian. I wanna travel to Kuala Lumpur but I have no idea how Kuala Lumpur looks like. Can anyone tell me?

Yup, Kuala Lumpur(KL) is a modern city. In fact, it's the capital of Malaysia where so many international events were held annualy. I bet it's a modern city. Even it's not up with Tokyo or New York, yet it has lots of nice things to offer. You made a right decision to visit KL this year bcos it's Visit Malaysia 2007 year. You'll enjoy your stay for sure. In case u r looking for place to relax your mind, you can go to waterfalls, resort at highlands, and beaches too.. Kuala Lumpur is the capital of Malaysia and it's a very modern city. It's pretty much like Melbourne or Perth with lots of tall buildings and lots of shopping malls. The food is great and you have to try the various hawkers and night markets available to get a feel of it. There is a casino there, Genting Highland, very similar to the one in Melbourne and operate by the same group as in Perth. The only snag is the hot weather (like summer in Australia) and the traffic jam. Other than that, it's a great country to visit.

NO. There's a disconnection between the people and the place. There might be nice and newer buildings but gosh, the people are so barbaric. People SPIT on the floor inside restaurants. If you go to the restroom, people wash their feet on top of the sink supposedly for face. Yuck!

If you've been to Bangkok, well its not like that. I would say its more like Singapore.......more sterilised with numerous skyscrapers (highly developed).........remember alcohol, might be a problem, due to it being an Islamic state. Its worth a look though, if only to visit the 2nd tallest building in the world (Petronas Towers).
