A person I work with has been broke up with her boyfriend and hadn't seen him in six months or more. They talked occassionally on the phone and she was friends with his sister. When she found out that he had gotten another girl pregnant, she went nuts, to put it lightly. Why?

She probably still has feelings for him but isn't telling anyone. She thinks that if she does, everyone will think she is pathetic for never moving on. She is still friends with his sister because she can get all of the inside info.

Oh boy! Trust me I know the feeling for sure. Well, in a girl's eyes if she is or was "in love" with this boyfriend, she feels as though this boy is always hers. The feelings she had for him probably changed but the love is always there. In her head, she probably thought that someday they would get back together again or something. If she was still talking to him occasionally, then that is an important sign that she has feelings for him still. Finding out that this guy got another girl pregnant basically eliminated the possibility of them getting back together. Oh I know, mark my words, I know.

Possibly jealousy. You didn't mention how long this girl had dated her ex. If they had dated for quite some time, it's possible that she wanted to get married and have children with him. Finding out that he knocked another girl up after only 6 months could be quite a blow. However, going 'nuts' isn't the best way to handle any situation.

Because you always love your ex in a way. They were once someone you spent your time with, who you liked, cared about. And in a way, it can be painful when you see them with someone else when it could be you. I'm guessin your co worker feels that way. Like she and ex had something special, but now there are new things between him an the girl that ur coworker will never know, so she feels sort of left out.

Obviously there are still feelings there, some people still have a connection with an ex even though they are not together, maybe she also thought that she was going to get back together with him.
