pastel shades as they will brighten up the room but u can use bright colour like red or yellow to offset one wall and brighten up the room

You want to reflect what light you do get, to seem lighter..lighter colors reflect and dark absorb..so any light color will help with your problem.

you should get your room coloured white..then it will look gud with some artificial lights of some light sun's lights...
