You're in the library and someone starts talking on their cell phone really loud (typically female and blond, more often than not). Then you can't concentrate and you can't help but listen to their conversation, but then they leave before finishing it, so you don't know how it ends!

yes... so i follow her out to find out. then offer my critique of the story at hand... oh man i loved it when you said "like no way" 100 times during your really loud annoying story but really i think your communication skills would be better served if you learned a variety of ways to not use the word 'like' to preface an idea.... regardless of how minute and trivial the ideas spauned from the cavity of your mind are. .... then wish her a nice like day.

I don't like people on cell phones in libraries and restaurants. Libraries are to be quite silent. They should have signs posted to turn of phones while in the building or to go outside to answer your phone. I see answering phones in restaurants for a few seconds or for an emergency from the kids from home or something like that. But the other day there was a couple in their 40's sitting together eating and not talking to each, not even looked at each other. after about half the meal, the wife's cell phone rang and she answered it and talked none stop for about 10 minutes (laughing and loud). I actually wanted to get up and invite the husband to sit with us for the rest of his meal. I felt sorry for him. She should have went out to dinner with that friend on the other end of the phone and let her husband go out with his friends. They didn't look like a happy couple.

Anyways -- I'm never upset that I don't hear the end of their conversations because franking the one side of the conversation I do get to hear is just about crap. (especially from the blonde females lol)

Oh Yeah.People have loud cell phone conversations in the supermarket checkout lines and on the bus and act like they're the only one there. It would bother me to have a personal conversation in front of a group of people.

That was good! No, I've never qued in on there conversation because it irritated me so much they would be doing it in the FIRST place. In my library - it is mostly KIDS and TEENS no matter WHAT color their hair is!! It's that 'respect' thing they forgot to take in school OR at home, obviously!! I'll have to listen in next time. I could use a good laugh!!

Annoying on both accounts! It is a library, people aren't supposed to talk loudly, but yet they do. I personally think it amusing to listen to other people's 'one-sided conversations', but not in the library.

I'm also sick of the arrogant pose that goes with it.
Why do people have to look so bloody important when they get a call and make out that their cell phone ringing denotes some kind of superiority over everyone in hearing distance?

LOL, yes that's happened to me before!!!... one time my friend an I were at the library (studying of course!) and the same thing happened so my friend decided he wanted to listen to the end of the conversation so he dragged me with him to walk behind her and listen to the end of her story... we ended up just hanging out afterwards and never finished our homework!!

Well the library in my communty, cell phones are NOT allowed in the library, and if you are caught, you will be asked to leave.
