my wife was driving my car (no license) she got in to an accident now my insurance company wont stop calling me they want me to give a tape recorded statement.

What are you going to do? Pull the blankets over your head and wait for them to go away? Answer the phone, and give them the facts. If what you are afraid of is the monetary cost, then get an attorney (a monetary cost). Your insurance company will probably pay, your wife will get a ticket and your insurance rates will go up. It's called the facts of life....
