I do oil painting but had stopped painting for some time (twelve years). I started back up again a year ago. What really helped me was checking out and talking to other self taught artist like myself . I've even been hired to do some painting for others. It was scary at first, but the customers like them and it did wonders for my confidence. Best gallery I guess is very much "U". Start Imagining the scenes or postures having best suitable color to each and every object present in the subject. Oil paints will remain the same its just the way u tackle with them.

its actually depends on your interest even if you want to do you should be fully involved in it... it also depends on your concentration
