Stewing steak needs long, slow cooking. Microwaves cook by shaking the water/fat/liquid molecules in the food, this would happen too quickly for the steak to be anywhere near tender - it would end up tough as old boots. to reheat once it's cooked is fine, but only then

NEVER cook stewing beef in a microwave (unless you want to lose your teeth!) as it will be as tough as old boot leather!!!!
Usually stewing beef is for cooking slowly for longer periods of time over a lower heat in a conventional oven.

glad i ain't eating at your place *LOL*

For a good oven recipe cook stewing steak in a pint of beefstock with 2 sliced onions, carrots and mushrooms. Cook at gas number 3 for 4 hours. the meat will be lovely and tender

IMO, beef is the one thing you do NOT want to cook in a microwave...

Stewing beef needs to be stewed/simmered...slowly...in liquid...on top of the stove or in a dutch oven

no no don't do it. God the reason it's stewing beef is because it needs a long slow cook, not a short sharp shock...

Dont even try, the only way to do it is to stew it properly first then reheat a portion, it works okay but does tend to be a bit tougher if you reheat this way

Jocky, you are a lazy buggggar!! Its so much nicer and easier to cook it in an ordinary pan. Take it from someone who has tried every easy tip in the world, as I am a lazy cook.

I wouldn't recommend cooking it this way but if you must, make sure you cook it in a liquid. Not too sure how it would turn out though.

I'm thinking it would come out tough and chewy...I don't recommend it.
