we brokeup and now he says he will change. what are the odds of this happening? its been 2 1/2 yrs of going thru the same problem. i personally think he wont and it really doesnt matter now. but i was just curious to ask can a 44 yr old man change his bad habits? sometimes i think he doesnt even think what he done is really that bad. so how can a person change what they keep denying. even if they know the real truth. what do you think?

,I think you wrote a beautiful question and a your own perfect answer to it.
You have probably given this man so many chances, that this plea is just yet one more chance to be broken.
If you don't really care anymore(and why should you?) then let him go kindly and move on and consider this a lost cause. You do deserve more and you realize that. I know you do.
Go for it girl !!
Perhaps he will be as shocked as my ex-husband was when I never returned after many returns. He told a mutual friend that he couldn't understand it, I always came back before.~Well, Jill moved on, remarried a wonderful military man , we had 5 children, now grown and are living happily ever after.
Your future is ahead of you. Good luck to you and God bless you.

For a change human being requires just fraction of a minute. As self realization never takes much time. If he has realized his mistakes now you should also believe him & watch closely if he is telling the truth.

Most likely not. Keep your chin up and move forward without him. He is lonely, but usually after a short reprieve, they go back to the way they have been. Works that way for 99% of all people. Good luck to you honey. If you are ever in FL, look me up....

you cant change anyone, unless they want to change. I dont think he will change. He was lived his life the way he wanted to and you have stayed with him. And now that your gone he is saying that he will change and once he has you back he is gonna go back to the same him. Move on

44 is too old to change! Unless he gets intouch with himself. That more than likely wont happen.

They say old habits die hard if you feel you should leave him you should next time it might get worse. the simple fact no one wants to be alone its a hard thing to cope with but life's to short to keep a bad seed in your pocket.

I'm sorry, but one of the most well known characteristics of men is that they will never change. So you have two choices, love his flaws, or move on and find someone else.
