I was wondering about dogs and retards. i know that retarded people obviously do go to heaven, but lets say that someone is brutally retarded and not completely cognisant of his actions. lets say this guy somehow manages to greusomely slaughter 3 people. would he get in the pearly gates?

oh yeah, and dogs too because some dogs are conscious and aware. you can tell.

The question concerning the person who is mentally retarded (let's not use the word "retard" as it is pejorative) would come down to the question of the amount of freedom the person had to make a moral decision and know that what he or she was doing was morally wrong. Because this is something that has to do with the interior life of that person and hence is known only to God, it is not for us to sit around and theorize so as to then evaluate religion as if it were just a philosophy. In fact, to sit around and want to know "who is going to heaven" and "who is not going to heaven" without really wanting to have a personal relationship with God is to waste time speculating about things instead of looking to better one's life or that of others.

If we are talking about the Christian concept of heaven, then dogs do not go to heaven. Not because God has anything against dogs, but rather because heaven is about union with God and since God became man in Jesus Christ, humans can have union with God through Christ. As far as I know, dogs don't have immortal souls, so there is no need to worry "where do they go" after they die.

Well, that is a tought question.

The bible says to Knowingly do wrong and do it anyway is a sin. So if a retarded person (who doesn't know what he is doing is wrong) kills three people then my quess is yes he still goes to heaven. But you have to remember even mentally retarded people have a sense of right or wrong.

About the dogs, well... That is a great mystery that I think will only be solve once we get there. The bible does say though "Let everything that has breath praise the Lord!" It says "everything" not just humans. So IDK they might, I know that there is animals in heaven though becasue the bible does mention that the lion will lay down beside teh lamb in peace, so there will be animals there, but will these animals here on earth go there? that I do not know.

Think about this:
The bible mentions briefly in several places that the animals all know who God is. As an example look at Balaam and his donkey, the donkey say the angel and was afraid, but why was he afraid? Because he knew how strong and mighty the angel was, how did he know this? Because he knew what the angel was.

Unlike insane people, retards are still aware of their actions. Usually retarded mind doesn't grow as fast as normal people do. So if the retarded guy knows that killing someone is wrong, he also gets sins. But I don't think it ever happens. How could a retard who has a mind of a 5 years old can slaughter people?

As for dogs, and other animals, I really have no idea.

Well, if an evangelical Christian believed their own preachings, then a dog would not be allowed in to heaven because they are not human and thus don't have souls, and a retard would only go to heaven if they were not too retarded to be saved by Jesus. Since even children will go to hell because of original sin if they're not saved, then a person who was too retarded to "ask Jesus into their heart" would be damned, even if they never slaughtered three people, and despite the fact that god made them that way.

Honestly how can people seriously answer anything about who exactly goes to heaven? It's not up to them to judge. I am not religious persay; I believe in God and heaven and hell. So if you people say that animals can't go to heaven are you saying they all belong in hell? Or they have no soul? I wonder if this fits in the prejudice catagory....hmmmm.
This is why I do not go to chuch or really believe in organized religion. To much confusion and different belief systems and to many judging for what people AND animals are or arn't. I just don't get it.
With the animal thing.....I KNOW my dog and cats and bunny that has passed over through the years will be there to greet me when I leave this earth. That's my belief.

Dogs- No
"Retards" yes. Only people that have an understanding of right and wrong have to choose. Babies go to heaven because they aren't old enough to understand right from wrong. Someone who is so retarded that they don't understand, (can't choose) would also be like the baby.

As a parent of a individual with mental retardation (a medical condition, by the way), I am offened by the way you associate those with this medical condition.

Animals do not have a soul, only humans were created with a soul that can go to heaven.

Any individual, regardless of medical condition, who does not reach the mental capacity to understand "right" from "wrong" will not be excluded from heaven. Only those who know how to choose "right" and make their own choice to do "wrong", will be excluded from heaven without another one's sacrifice to cover their wrong (Jesus). Once someone has chosen to do wrong, they must ask someone who has never done any wrong to intercede for them (Jesus has provided that way).

The Almighty YHVH set up a system. He sent His “Son” YAHOSHUA to die for the sins of mankind so they would not have to. (They could choose to, but did not have to). Any person who chooses not to allow Yahoshua to take care of their sins, chooses to remain attached to their sins. They thus will wind up in the lake of fire which is YHVH’s method of cleaning this world, and eliminating sin and sinners. The Creator set aside the Seventh day for rest and worship. Yes that is the day usually called “Saturday”. We are not saved by obedience, we are saved by faith. However we are saved FOR obedience. As He said in John 14:15 (and in many other places) “If you love me, keep my commandments.

Churchianity is a pagan religion. The only thing that will change a person is the indwelling savior Yahoshua. Obviously that is rare in this sinful world.

In the end all will say that the way YHVH did it was best. That is good enough for me.

Yes, he would. According to the bible if you are not quite right you get a ticket into heaven. Apparently, dogs don't qualify. They turn to dust. No pets allowed in heaven.
