I heard that ones with ceramic plates don't damage your hair as much. Could you reccomend some that you think work really well?

Curlmaster Ceramics make a ceramic straightener that works just as well as a Chi, but is a lot less expensive. Ceramic straighteners do an excellent job of sealing in moisture and preventing frizziness due to humidity.

Solia makes a Tourmaline Ceramic Ionic Flat Iron.
According to the Solia flat iron website, "tourmaline,
a precious stone, is used to generate up to 6 times more
negative ions than traditional ceramic irons".( $75/85)

The wet to straight straightener works really good. I have wavy hair and it makes it completely straight and also very silky. Just don't use it when your hair is wet. I know you can, but it makes your hair feel like hay. You can get it at wal-mart for like around $23.

I have a Maxiglide. I have shoulder length wavy hair and it takes about 5 min. to straighten my hair. My hair is not dry or damaged. I use Dove shampoo and conditioner.
