Quite a polisemic exclamation.
You got the right answers already. Except for what spelling is concerned. You looked up under "hay" while there is no "h" in the word "ay", an exclamation meaning quite the same as "aw" in your example ("aw geez" and even "holy cow" depending on the context). 'Caramba' may also be a milder "you idiot" (stop you idiot! = ¡para ya, caramba!)

A stunt involving a stunt(man/woman) to fall or be thrown into the hay for a stunt scene in a movie or tv show. For example, A stuntwoman crashes a biplane into a barn. The biplane comes to a sudden stop causing her to be thrown out from the plane and into a haystack. The the thrust of being thrown from the plane gave the stuntwoman the velosity needed for her to make contact with the hay thus causing her to "hit-the-hay".
