That is NOT correct.

As written in Genesis:
(1) The universe and the Earth already existed for quite some time before the "7 days" stuff happened
(2) The "7 days" listed is 7 days of God's time
(3) There is a conversion for God's time to Man's time
(4) There is a conversion for God's time to Angel's time
(5) There is a conversion for Angel's time to Man's time

Using the 3 equations, you get that God's 7 days is hundreds of millions of Earth years.

It also specifically states that current man is the 5th intelligent race to come into being, and the SECOND incarnation of man on Earth - the first being the 4th intelligent race, and the difference between the 4th and 5th is due to genetic manipulation.

no..god made the earth in genesis 1:1.. in the beginning Giod created the heavens and earth...so creation was completed here..

but by genesis 1:2..using Hebrew translation....the earth BECAME without form or void, and darkness was on the face of the earth....and the spirit of god as hovering over the waters...

so something destructive happened to creation in verse 2, but what happened is not mentioned.. it is possible that the fall of satan from heaven to earth may have occured at this time..and his presence created chaos..and destruction.

so the rest of chapter 1 is a repair job...

it is thought that millions of years could have elapsed between verse one and verse 2... we really do not know the time because it is not given....

i personally believe that life (animals and man) was created after the repair job.. because verse 1 only mentions the heavens and earth, but not life......

bible dating only goes back to the time man was created ( verse 26)....not when the earth was created in verse 1

Creationist, not holding to Usher. I prefer to see what science supports/suggests. Evidence suggests Usher is right, other evidence can run out to 10,000 or 50,000 years.

I believe in God - oddly, this came after becoming a creationist.

I believe in God, and I am undecided about evolution. I feel he did create the earth thou. I don't believe in that date at all. The earth is at least a couple million years old.

All I know is in the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. How long ago? The Bible gives no hint at all.

Then why wouldn't the start of the world be considered January 1st? Why would the start of the world happen in the 10th month of the year?

4004 bc ? that would make the Earth about 6000 years old .
So if that were true then explain how there are fossils 100,000 years old ?

It really depends on what time zone your reference point is in.

From where I stand, the Earth was formed about 4.5 billion years ago.
