I never heard that before. The person expressed in their answer to another that that statement is one derived from the bible.

I know that angels are enhanced, joyful and helpful. Yet, I never heard the comment that spirits are ' bad or ' demons '.

As humans we are of spirit and are soulful beings . . . Spiritual, soulful. If we are Spiritual . . . then where does that comment that Spirits are demons.

Your thoughts ?

Demons were once angels too. 1/3 of God's angels left with satan. Now they are called evil spirits but they are really fallen angels.

Hi, first of all the term Angel means=Messenger, and all Angels good or bad are pure spirit beings, when an Angel defies God to the point of open rebellion as Satan and other Angels did then they change their pure nature of obedience to one of un-pure rebelliousness, and this is the state that they will always have because Angels have a higher awareness of what such a decision means than we do,when an Angel makes a choice it stays forever, so yes indeed their are fallen Angels that we know as Demons.
Of course not all spirits are evil and disobedient, God Himself is the absolute pure spirit and cannot go against His own omnipotent nature, and while we too have a spiritual soul we like the fallen Angels can and do sin against God but because we do not fully understand the seriousness of our actions God has mercy upon us and forgives us.

Dear Friend,

We can get the definative answer from this in Gods word the bible,

Angels are indeed messengers of God, and are spirit beings. i.e. they do not have a body.

Matthew 12:24
But when the Pharisees heard this, they said, "It is only by Beelzebub, the prince of demons, that this fellow drives out demons." (Beelzebub is Satan)

And

Revelation 12:9
The great dragon was hurled down—that ancient serpent called the devil, or Satan, who leads the whole world astray. He was hurled to the earth, and his angels with him

Demons are rebel angels who were driven out of heaven because of their rebellion against the one true God.

Therefore a demon is a rebel angel

God Bless

I feel that person is incorrect in their statement. For example, the Holy Spirit is the spirit of God which gives us a conscience and He is not of any evil.

as an angel would often be referred to as a kind of spirit i think it is not very accurate.

probably better to say that there are different sorts of spirits...
