Doesn't sound to me like you need to loose any weight either.

Eat proper food, and don't snack on rubbish. Slimfast is rubbish you will just be hungry and not loose anything as your body will store what its given.

Your friends are right Jo, you're not fat and so it will take longer to lose weight. But you will lose weight if you keep at it; especially as you add that you are exercising regularly.

I personally have found that faddy things like slim fast don't work, because the right thing to do is to change your life style. I'm a fatty who is finally losing weight by cutting out all pork products, most red meat and reducing meat consumption to three times a week. On the other hand I have increased vegetable and fruits in my diet. But I don't think that this would necessarily work for everyone.

When you say regular exercise, unless you're talking about four times a week for a minimum of 40 minutes it won't make much difference in your case. I mean you are not really overweight.

Finally don't lose weight just to conform to societal pressure. Being a woman means being soft and cuddly (within reason of course). Don't obsess and worry more about your health than your actual weight.

at 5.7 and weighing 10 stone you do not need to loose any weight! the fact that you've done slim fast and have not lost weight proves that you are already healthy! you really shouldn't loose any weight because you weigh 10 stone and are that tall. i'd say you were the perfect weight if not a little under! why not go and buy some new clothes or get a haircut to have a change, rather than tryin to loose weight.

Hi!

I remember that at one time the weight guide for film stars was:
for the five-foot measure: 100 lbs
for every inch thereafter: 5 lbs

Now, film stars must be slender because the camera makes people look heavier ........ but, since you are not a film star (are you?!!) being 5 lbs over the filmstar standard is of no consequence at all ...(a stone = 14 lbs.) ... not to worry! .... it is best just to work on having what the French call "une belle sante"
which means being in a beautiful, healthy condition ... (accent missing on the 'e' of sante ... my typewriter does not accommodate this..)

Peace & Love

What you want to achieve is fat loss and not weight loss, right? I'm sure you want to keep your muscle as any loss of muscle will result in a more sluggish metabolism.

I'm suspecting you can't lose any fat because your calorific intake is at your maintenance level and not at your weight loss level.

It is more difficult to lose weight the slimmer you are. You have to get more and more sophisticated in methods that you use.

I would ditch Slim Fast (Full of artificial stuff) and eat normal food.

Calculate you calorific requirement using this formula:

The Harris Benedict Calorie Needs Formula for Women

First, calculate your BMR according to this formula:
655 + (9.6 x weight in kilos) + (1.8 x height in centimetres) - (4.7 x age in yrs)

To Calculate your total calorie needs, multiply your BMR by the appropriate activity multiplier:

Activity Multiplier

If you are sedentary (little or no exercise, desk job) multiply BMR by 1.2
If you are lightly active (light exercise/sports 1-3 days per week) multiply your BMR by 1.375
If you are mod. active (moderate exercise/sports 3-5 days per week) multiply your BMR by 1.55
If you take heavy exercise (hard exercise/sports 6-7 days per week) multiply your BMR by 1.725

Once you've got your number subtract 500 kcal to get your daily calorie intake to lose.

Alternativley for a less sophisticated number multiply your weight in pounds by 10-12 to lose.

Then divide these calories into 5-6 equal sized meals and make sure you consume a source or lean protein (chiken breast, tuna, turkey, cottage cheese, egg whites) and a slow release carb (oatmeal, brown rice, quinoa, beans, lentils) at every feeding + vegetables!

Keep up your sports 3-4 times a week and you should be losing 2-3 pounds a week.

You are at a healthy weight right now, so it will be harder to get your body to lose.

Are you exercising? What do you eat other than Slim-Fast meals? These can also impact your results.

Ok, are you exercising as well. Just because you are on a diet it doesnt mean you will lose weight.
Perhaps your previous calorie intake was the same as the diet you are on now.
To lose weight you need to do TWO very simple things.
1) intake less calories
2) burn off more calories than you intake

It is not a must that all those who use slim fast should necessarily lose weight.in your case you are not over weight.stop any unnatural foods like slim fast as you cannot use them for lifetime.instead switchover to low fat foods, skimmed milk, vegetable salads etc which you can eat throughout your life.there may be some adverse effects if you go for crash diet program
