An old wives' tale states that chewing gum, if swallowed, may take up to seven years to become fully digested, and that swallowing gum could also result in the substance becoming lodged in the esophagus. Chewing gum does resist complete digestion by the body; it is generally expelled like other foods in 95% of individuals, though relatively unchanged. In rare cases, some individuals who have been known to swallow chewing-gum regularly and who are predisposed can unfortunately aid the growth of bezoars within their stomachs or intestines.
A bezoar or enterolith is a sort of calculus or concretion,

Don't worry about it. If it stayed in your stomach it might actually take that long to actually digest because one of the main components is actually a form of rubber. Your body will take care of itself and get rid of it in the usual way.
I know people that swallow gum all the time, especially kids. Is it collected and waited for 7 years can you imagine what would happen if you had excess gas while passing it. The worlds largest mathane gas bubble.

It passes through the digestive system in a few days. Chewing gum is composed of five basic ingredients, four of which dissolve in your mouth - flavor, sweeteners, syrups and softeners. If you swallow the remaining gum base, it passes like roughage

No it gets passed through into your intestines and excreted. However I have heard reports that your bottom can become blocked after swallowing chewing gum!
