The blood colour is determined by the number of red blood cells in the blood and by the amount of oxygen they are carrying. Dark blood will generally come from a vein and carries very little oxygen. Bright red blood will generally come from an artery and is saturated with oxygen. I say "generally" because there is an exception ( a bit complicated, general terms is enough to answer your question).
The blood you are seeing is venous blood and therefore dark. there are some conditions where there is over production of red blood cells, it might be worthwhile going to a doctor just to exclude any medical problem.

I'm only guessing, have ya changed ya diet recently? Darker blood to me, suggests a rich in iron diet. This can include....red meats, dark green veg. red wine or even a vitamin supplement.

The colour of the blood is defined by your liver, maybe your not getting the right nutrients or your coming down with an infection? You go to your g.p and ask for a series of blood tests to be safe

Could be a number of possible explanations for this. The first thing to check is to get a small hand mirror, hold it to your mouth, and see if any misting occurs on the mirror's surface, if not you may be dead.
