Do horses help children with autism?

Anyone know or done any research on whether horses can be somewhat therapeutic for children with autism?

My 4 year old son has Autism and his doctor highly recommends horse therapy. Depending on the severity an autism dog can be very helpful as well there are 4 paws for ability and north star who train autism dogs I have seen 2 in action and they are terrific! Good luck!
