im looking for a new fork to use on my race bike. i want something between 100-140mm (im not hardcore so i dont need a superlight, low travel fork). i want adjustable preload and rebound, lockout is a plus. must be under 4lbs. i also want it to be a disc only design. also dark colors, i dont like white.

i was originally gonna buy a Fox Vanilla RLC for $490, but opted to look around for something cheaper.

im not too knowledgeable when it comes to suspension, so let me know whats good and whats not.

are there any light, dual crown forks out there?

RockShox Reba Race is 85-115 mm travel @ 3.55 lbs (Dk Grey)

Maverick DUC 32 has 6" of travel, dual crown @ 3.9 lbs

The Reba is a good option if it is within your price range. Usually, 140mm of travel and XC race bike are not that compatible, depending on your bike, I guess you'll be better searching for a 100mm fork. It will be better for racing geometry rather than trail riding.

Marzocchi has some very good forks, but I'm not sure about weight, while Rock Shox has come with a very good option on the Reba. I don't know the price, but probably you could find a 06 in closeout.

so you have a race bike but you dont want a superlight low-travel fork??? sorry i dont get it man. for a race bike thats exactly what you want. your not going to be doing any huge drops or craziness in a race...oh and your not going to find many forks under 4lbs much less with the travel your looking for. Go look at some Marzzochi forks or Rock Shox, but you dont need that much travel for a race bike in my opinion.
