I'd tell you "Yes!" but I've got a minor allergy to peanuts, they cause my tongue and throat to swell, and I still eat them and peanut butter. They're just so damn good! I was able to give up the other foods I'm allergic to but asking someone to give up peanuts is just unnatural. So, from my perspective, as long as you're willing to deal with the consequences, eat on!

If you don't want to see an allergist, then take steps to eliminate certain foods from your diet. If the allergies stop, then you can suspect that food is the culprit. To test, try to reintroduce the food and see what happens. Obviously, if you are having problems breathing or other severe reactions, don't tempt fate by testing the food. See a doctor instead. Good luck!

Randomly taking food out of your diet can leave you with an unbalanced diet that can cause other health problems. Additionally, you may become frustrated because you reach a point where you believe that everything you eat is causing a reaction. Seek the help of a doctor before making significant changes in your diet.
