I have flown alot in my 20 yrs. In this last year i flew around 10 times...my last flight was great. I rather drive..im sorry but if i get in a car crash i'll be on the ground where ppl can help me. Now when me and fellow passengers are 3500 ft in the air and we crash, who's going to help us? no one cause we would be dead. That is the only thing i have a problem with. Oh and im weird i have to sit on the left side of the plane by the wing. Makes me feel safe. I dont know..try it!

I have flown alot and have taken 14 hour flights, but I am still afraid all the time of flying. I guess my biggest fear is the plane just dropping into the ocean in a long free fall. I also hate turbulance it makes me think that there is someone maybe struggling with the plane up in the cockpit and I keep looking at the flight attendants walking back and forth to see the look on their faces.

My current one is that I'll be on a United "partner" flight, there will be a massive snowstorm in my connection city (like Denver), the flight I'm on will be diverted to Cheyenne or Laramie--I'll have to spend a night or two there spending over $100 a night for hotel, then the planes will leave and I'll be stuck in Wyoming with 100 other people, trying to figure out how in the world to get to wherever we were going. Read this article from Tuesday's USA Today...it really happened....

Just really makes you want to hop on an airplane, doesn't it?

i flew 100,000 miles last year. I am a plane sleeper. However I hate flying (landing / take off) in bad weather. Snow, rain, wind. I've done them all and they all suck. I've had a couple close calls on the way down and up... but I'm typing this message now so I guess its not really a complaint.

I don't really have any fears of flying, in and of itself. I travel so much, that I'm used to the routine. Plus my husband is a pilot and I've seen first hand how tight security is, even for the crew.

I guess my fear of flying is that one of my kids will misbehave or throw a tantrum on the flight (and of course I can't spank them there in front of everyone).

I fly almost 100 times a year and am not at all scared, I actually love flying. I'm actually more nervous about driving... and statistically driving is less safe than flying.

Dont have one. If you realize how many backup systems there are, how much abuse those airframes take during testing, and how reliable technology has come (ie computers, engines etc.), then look at the statistics there really is very little to be worried about, especially when your talking about transport aircraft.

You know, this is happened to me. When I went on my first plane flight. I still am scared. My advice, bring a magizine or book and just forget about it.

I love flying, very safe. My only fear is who or what I have to sit next too.
