As you've read in other answers - YES you can buy lobster in the shops, but they will probably be cooked (If they are red/orange they are cooked) and you won't know how fresh they are. Much better only to buy fresh ie. live, lobster - which is dark blue and moving - and cook it yourself. Drop eyes first into a big pan of salted boiling water. It's cooked when it's gone bright red/orange.
If you don't want to do that then maybe you shouldn't be wanting to eat lobster at all. If you can't face the fact it starts of as a living creature and is killed in the process of cooking before you eat it.

You can in Tesco although at £15 it's expensive, it may be cheaper at your local Fish & Game store.

tesco fish counter usually have them, they often get reduced to about £6 at the end of the day

Sure. Bigger upscale markets usually have them. My little Safeway doesn't, but if I go to the bigger one across town, they have a huge seafood counter.
