I don't think that Kevin is an "analhole" for winning the race. I mean sure, Mark Martin did do an awesome job, but the guy hasn't won a race in a while. Kevin has just got it... and NO, I am not a Harvick fan, live in the same exact town he is from. And never have liked him, I am a Jeff Gordon fan. Go figure. Anyways, the cars were wrecking behind the leaders, not in front of them, if they were wrecking in front of them, it would have been a different story. I think that Nascar played by the rules, and Martin was a good sport about it, much unlike Harvick would have been had the tables been turned. Well I am going to Fontana this weekend to watch the race! I cannot wait!!!!!!

I don't know where that caution flag was either. But one the last lap of the Daytona 500, you've got to go all out for it. I don't like Harvick, but I can't blame him for winning. Mark Martin didn't want anyone to give him the race.

I don't believe Harvick did anything wrong. Granted I would have loved to see Mark Martin win the Daytona 500 but nothing illegal happened and he just got outraced at the end. Yeah it bites, but Harvick did what he was paid to do, win the race. I don't believe NASCAR calls a caution on the final lap of the race, or that there is a rule stating they have to.
It just boils down to good racing.

I am not a Harvick fan, but don't take anything away from him. Mark Martin "losing" the race had nothing to do with what Harvick did. Every drivers' goal is to win the race and push it hard until the yellow or checkerd flag comes out. The aholes in this instance are the NASCAR officials. Harvick isn't going to get all wrapped up in the politics of the sport he's just going to go out there every week and try to win as many races as he can.

What did he do wrong? If they did fly the caution flag what is that going to change... I tell you what it would change...
Kyle Busch would have finished 3-5... Rewarding him for spinning out causing a huge crash... rather than finishing 23rd.
Same with Matt Kenseth, while it was not his fault, he still lost many spots due to the flag not coming out.
Most important is the 1 and 2 finish... It would not have changed a thing. Harvick would still have passed Martin as they were not affected by the accident.
If the caution comes out its out for a matter of 2 seconds... at the speeds they were going it would have froze the field, but not have made a difference at all. I think you are missing the point that as soon as the leaders crossed the start/finish line the field was froze at that point... Its just like a basketball game, or a football game ending on a Pass Interference call leading to a game winning field goal, or foul shots...
I love Martin, but I dont think any fans wanted to see the field froze only 500 feet from the start finish line.

Yes. You are right! Kevin Harvick is a "analhole" for winning his first Daytona 500. It's just un-american that he took that win away from Mark Martin. I mean, He should have just slowed down and let Mark win the race! That's just the way Mark would have wanted it ya know! He couldnt earn it himself, So lets let Harvick just hand it to him....
Whether Mark should have won that race or not is totally diff... But why is Harvick an asshole for winning that race? He wouldn't be in NASCAR if he didnt want to win. What self-respected driver would ever just LET another driver win a race just cause he should! Thats horse shlt!!!

I think Martin is awesome but even he knows that racing is racing and no one is just allowed to win.
Over 43 teams every week work their behinds off to get ready for the race. Between getting to the track, doing the whole set up and sweating their balls off all those teams deserve to win. Not just the old guy that hasn't been able to at a particular track. Hell, he hasn't won a NEXTEL cup yet either. Should we all let him win all the races this season just so he can be a champion? Next year we can let JPMontoya win the races next year since a minority from Columbia hasn't never won it either. We'll even give him a Toyota so we can knock two birds with one stone!
GD, people this is about the best race I've seen in awhile, especially the last 20-30 laps, and all the more I ever hear is a bunch of complaining. Be happy they are racing again and that we still have 36 races left.
GO FAST!!!

Kevin Harvick did nothing wrong. Why is he getting the blame for trying to win a race? Last time I checked that was his job, but I agree the caution flag controversy. It wasn't Kevin's fault that NASCAR decided to ignore its own rules. Kevin was just doing what he's paid to do.

It's THE Daytona 500, everybody wants to win that race, even if Mark Martin was leading the race.
Everybody likes Mark Martin, but they would like winning that Great American Race even more.
Overall you should blame NASCAR for delaying the caution, it's up to the drivers to try to win, and it's up to NASCAR to be consistent. If they didn't try to win, well, then what was the point of being in the race?

Sorry...as much as I don't like Harvick, he did nothing wrong at all. It's not his fault NASCAR no longer throws the caution on the last lap of the race. He won fair and square according to the rules. Why don't you do a little research online and you will find that they don't throw the caution on the last lap. They don't even throw the caution in the last lap on any NASCAR Playstation game. Trust me....I have 04, 05 and 06 and will be getting 07.
