I'm still young at 22 years old, but I find that my memory is terrible. I have very poor attention to detail. Someone could tell me something a minute ago and I'd forget. How can I help fix this?

A vit-b to your daily intake. Get a good supplement, like Centrum or something like that. It will take as much as 4 weeks before you see a noticeable change, but the problem you are experiencing is due to a vit-b deficiency.

There are many things that you can do to help your memory.

Try changing your diet, make sure you eat foods rich in Omega 3 oils (these can be found in oily fish, which you should be eating at least twice per week) Eat plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables and keep yourself hydrated throughout the day by drinking plenty of water. Take moderate exercise every day.

Sleep is also an important factor, if you are not having enough quality sleep, then you cannot even hope to have a good memory! Try and go to bed at the same time every night (even on weekends) so that your body is used to an established routine.Make sure you have a good quality mattress and pillows to ensure the best night's rest.

Finally, the brain is like a muscle, the less it is used, the more it will let you down. Keep your brain active by reading, doing puzzles such as crosswords, sudoku etc. Test your memory by doing simple, fun, exercises, place 20 objects on a table and give yourself a minute to look at them. Cover the objects up and then try and remember what was on there.

If you have an Nintendo DS you might also like to try Dr Kawashima's Brain Training game, it's simple and fun to use and really works!

You should take a multi vitamine. But the best for memory is iron and a "B" complex. Just check with your GP that iron is ok for you to take before you do, but vitamine "B" is always good.
