off late i've put on few added kilos...
anyone tell me...
HOW MANY CALORIES DO I ACTUALLY BURN BY 1/2 HOUR OF FAST WALKING ??????????

75 maybe 100 if you went REALLY fast.

I started a new job this past November that involves a great deal of walking throughout the day. I've lost over 10 pounds, a great deal of body fat, and gained a nice amount of muscle as well as greatly improved my overal muscle tone in my legs. I don't do much long distance walking, but then again, I work from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m and am walking all over an acre of property. I've no idea how long you'd need to walk on a treadmill to equal the type of exercise I'm getting.

I'd suggest walking along a natural trail of path of some sort. Hills and such really help to shape up.

Walking is a good exercies. It's much easier on your joints than running. You will only burn about 100 calories if you walk super fast for a half hour. Try not to go by what the treadmill might say - they tend to over estimate.

Walking is the best exercise, outside in the fresh air preferably taking in pleasant surroundings but not essential. Forget counting calories and think about the benefit of doing something good, something really beneficial for yourself. Walking stimulates the metabolism and works on the mental/ emotional level too so that you will feel less need for comfort or excessive eating. Regularity is the secret, 30 minutes every day. Walking is excellant. low impact and you can enjoy the scenary. You need to do it everyday though. My mom lost 100 lbs walking and dieting.

about 50-75 calories, walking is very good for your heart and cholesterol but you wont lost much weight
