Exact same thing happened to my daughter, fell on the stairs while holding pencil, poked her face. She now has a lead mark permanently on her face. Doc said that if it bothers her, she can have it surgically removed, but we haven't opted to do that yet. Just keep checking that it is healing and not getting infected. My daughter doesn't have a scar, but a perfect point sized mark where the pencil broke the skin. she is so used to it now that it doesn't bother her anymore.

Once upon a time, I accidentally stabbed a freshly sharped pencil into my hand. This was over twenty years ago, and to this day, I still have a small black dot in my palm the diameter of the pencil lead. (Graphite: the pencil "Lead" is a very good tattoo-ing agent, but I don't recommend it.)
The mark will last for a long time and might fade a bit over the years. Meanwhile, maybe your daughter can think of it as a "beauty mark." (?)
I think she'll be ok.

You probably ought to have it checked out by a doctor just to make sure a piece of the pencil didn't break off in her face. The black mark is probably either pencil or dried blood. I imagine it will heal fine, but even if it does leave a small scar it's not going to be a big deal.

This is not life-threatening. However it is semi-urgent.
The important question is whether any pencil lead is left beneath the skin? It it is, it may leave something like a tattoo mark behind.
In general, any wound on the face heals well without leaving much scar.
Suggestion:
1. Consult a plastic surgeon to seek medical opinion.
2. Wait and see in a month time, if there is no residual mark, it is a good news, nothing further needs to be done. If there is a residual mark, then speak to a surgeon to have it remove. Again please be reassured that the scar would most likely minimal.

My son got stabbed right beneath the eye which caused a tattoo. Pencil lead (graphite) will leave a mark due to particle embedding/staining, regardless of the tip being present. I would recommend taking child to pediatric dermatologist. At this time of posting, I have done some of my own research to conclude that I will seek a dermatologist (2 months after the stabbing) that has laser treatment as an option, specifically, Q-switched ruby laser or Q-switched Nd: YAG laser to minimize possible hypo-pigmentation (skin color loss).

I would take her in.. Just in case the lead is still in her face. I was stabbed in my hand in grade school and that black mark stayed in my hand for about 8 yrs. My mom took me in to make sure I did not have lead poison also. I had that happen in 7th grade and it was well after I graduated before it was gone, though I do still have a little scar and I am 33 now. Hope that is all is well.

I also was the victim of a pencil stabbing (no joke). I was stabbed in the arm. The doctor got most of it out but there will always be a slight discoloration of the skin, its not hardly noticable. So good luck, PS if she has freckles you can't even notice it.

AHH! damn. Well. i can tell to you this! I once had a similar problem, i had a led pencil led that got stuck in my nail.
hm, what can i say. It should start to slowly fade away (the color). Well, sadly, not all of it is faded away, and its been like 3-6 years. But its not THAT noticeable. U have to really look closely to see it. Goodluck on you and your daughter. o.0

Your kid will be fine. A little mark like that will be invisible before too long. I wouldn't bother a doctor with a little scratch like that.
The person that warned against "lead poisoning" is typical of the asinine type of advice that you're gonna get on here. Just use your common sense and you'll be fine.
