After asking several questions on this topic, there seems to be a double standard. It seems that it's ok for Women, but not Men to wear Thong swimwear at the Beach. Why is that? And most of the People who said it was gross or wrong for a man to do it were Women. Is this not sexist?

You People are completely missing the point here. It's not about being gross because a guy has a hairy a**. It's about equality. Get it?

It might be considered sexist since it appears to be a double standard based mostly on what are perceived to be societal norms. If you go to European beaches, you will see some men wearing what seems to almost be a thong and no one seems to care. So I think the thong standard your describe is mostly an American one.

I believe that the American standard exists because Americans equate nudity with sex. Other cultures do not necessarily do that. For example, the Japanese have public co-ed bath houses and there are many nude beaches in Europe. You sort of see bodies in all shapes and sizes and no one seems grossed out by it.

The practical reasons for men to avoid thongs is because it is much easier for our package to spill out than it is for women (who, obviously have their equipment on the inside). I, for one, like to keep my lily-white package out of the sun. I would hate to get a bad burn ;-)-

Ok, so im at a beach a few years back. Ive got the top off my jeep, cruising through the parking lot and along the water of the beach. Beautiful summer day, nothing could be better. Checking out the babes, having a great time.
I notice a car door open of a sedan. Sticking out was the cutest little behind, nice and tan-wearing a thong and connected to a nice set of legs. Im feeling good, i stop and honk. The person backs out-its a GUY! He turns around and waves! says "HI!" all excited like.
I floored it. You have never seen a jeep go so fast in your life. .
Come to find out-while alot of girls hang out at this beach, alot of gay guys do as well. I made a friend that day-almost.
It was funny, you just had to be there i guess.
Anyways, thats exactly why guys shouldnt wear thongs.

Are you basing this on law or personal opinions of the general public? If there is a law preventing it (I have no idea if there is...I never thought about it) then I would think it would be because the male parts are on the outside, making it awfully risky to wear something so skimpy. If this is based on the opinions of others, it is because of the same reason that most men do not carry purses and most women don't go around grabbing their crotch. Notice I said most...not everyone follows what is considered "normal behavior" and that makes them unique. I say if there is no law against it , put on that thong and hold your head up high!!!

The issue about a hairy posterior is valid, many women get "waxed" back there, as well as in front, something no sane person would do.

I've seen men in thongs and they look equally silly. Why not push for a clothing optional beach.

They can, why not?
Whether its gross or not is a personal opinion. Personally if I see a guy wearing one, even though its not my personal taste for a guy to wear floss on a beach, I do remember it takes a very self confident man to strut his stuff in that.

Remember, men or women alike, a thong bathing suit is a PRIVILEGE not a RIGHT!

A thong is more conspicuous upon a man besides, it's a man's world anyway. It mystifies me as to how you guys weren't complaining when it was only you who could vote, work, get an education, rape, and make laws. Now, you're complaining about beintg unable to wear a thong?. What about the days when women had to dress head to toe? You have some nerve.
