To deny a friendship or a possible realationship because of age, is to me, a bit shallow. We live in a society where statistics show that more and more people are seeking relationships and marriage with older people. I believe that younger women are sick and tired of having relationships with young males who are emotionaly immature, afraid of commitment, and are still trying to live as a single, while in a relationship. Older people tend to be more stable, mature in their outlook on life and have already done all the things younger males are doing. They tend to be more devoted to their partners. And let's face it, older peole have already gone through the mill, they have learned the lessons of youth, and when they say "I love you" they really mean it., and not until something better comes along.

The problem I see is when one partner is however many years older and wiser (and wealthier, more powerful, etc.) than the other and uses these advantages against the other. A disparity in age (and therefore life experience) need not be the cause of the inequality - it could come from other things like background, education, etc. - but if it causes one to be at the mercy of the other, to me, it's a problem.

That's why I have a problem with, say, your average 35-year-old man dating your average 19-year-old girl - or your average 35-year-old woman dating your average 19-year-old boy. There's too much potential for exploitation in this situation, IMO. It would be less egregious some years down the road, when the older one is 66 and the younger one is 50, though, you know?

Not my place to go ugh, but I cant help wondering what they are on when there is a drastic age difference and it seems to me that in most cases money is involved. To have a good partnership there is a lot less problems if the couple are of a similar age and with similar interests, but then I am thinking of a couple who want to share a life together some might have other ideas like one wants money and security and one wants sex. I think the same applys for either sex .
If you are thinking of this for yourself have a good long think x

When I was younger I dated a woman 17 years my senior.
More recently I dated a woman 20 years my junior.
I reckon that's a pretty good spread.
I'm now married to a woman one year older, so I guess I gravitated to the mean.

Either way a young girl of 17 with a 35 year old man . A 75 year old woman with a 25 year old man, not nice to look at either way but if they love each other , then good luck to them.

You can't always help who you fall in love with. These days woman are looking after themselves and quite often appear much younger than they are. As usual it's one rule for the men and one for the women. If two people are happy with each other why should other people poke their nose in their business? If they are both adults and single what's the problem? Why do people have to judge others? Live and let live is my motto.

as long as you are happy, age shouldn't really be an issue! my husband is 9years younger than me,when we met we thought we were both the same age, however i was 31 and he was 22. I didn't choose to fall in love with him,it just happened regardless of the age difference. he's very mature for his age and i feel young at heart so it works and we have a fab marriage. don't let age be a barrier to happiness

When man is older than women it seems ok...But when women is older significantly people tend to go yuck.
Personally I think - any age difference above 10 years is yuck...
