I go to the gym 5 times a week now. It's not a drag on me and I actullay feel addicted to going there. Anyway Im very overweight, but I do go and I do an hour of cardio 30 bike 30 eliptical, and about 500 crunches.

Ok the rest of my body is slowly toning, but my tummy is still there. It looks like Im gaining weight , but the scale and my clothes tell me different.

My question is why is the rest of my body shrinking but my gut isnt??

My trainer always says that the way to a flat stomach starts in the kitchen. I dont know about your diet, but if you are serious about losing your gut than you should watch what you eat. Reduce any unbleach flour or sugar, fast food, and sweets. Continue eating whole wheats, protein shakes, fruits, veggies, and make sure you are drinking enough water.

As for your workout, it seems like your doing great. Dont change your routine and within time you should be toned and have great abs.

As the saying go's, "The first place you put it on is the last place you take it off". Also, if you are getting up in age, your weight will settle around your middle section-both men & women. I have the same problem (I'm 46)...and I once had a perfect figure. Keep doing what you're doing. When you get very close to your goal weight, your tummy may not look large, AND, compared to the great overall results you acheive..it may not be a big deal in the scheme of things!

Do you ever bend to touch your toes? You can sit on the floor or stand up to do it. Don't bend your knees. That should help. Have you asked someone who helps people at the gym if they know of anything else you can do. Also, while you are walking around, it helps to suck your stomach in. It makes it look a lot smaller.
Good luck.

it will be the last thing who will shrink . be patient. the problem is that the size of your stomach is big because you used to eat a lot and it will take time till it gets shrink. it's not a matter of fat, it is a stretching matter. your stomach is stretched.
