I think it depends on the adminstration but believe it is mostly out of paranoia. It's like raising a teenager. Stay involved, ask questions, offer assistance and open dialogue then your more likley able to head off a disaster. sometimes like a parent, you stick your nose in where you shouldn't have.

Economics,Politics,Diplomacy,Military are all interconnected
in the adminstration of any country.American dollar is overvalued
to the extent of 400%[4 times].By this America get four times
when they export and when they import they get material at 1/4th
the price.By inducting lot of brain from other countries they
manufacture certain materials which cannot be produced by most
of the countries. Thus they can sell at the blackmarket rate.
To keep this system running they must have a control on other
countries economy, other countries resources. That is why
policing is required.

Because many countries are run by dictatorships that harm and degrade the population. Because we are a the world's most successful country, a democracy and have interests all over the world, we usually take it upon ourselves to "rescue" those who are oppressed in other countries. There is also the money issue and safety issue as well. Because there are so many unstable countries, we step in to stabilize the world and make it safe for all countries. I think we do this for two reasons - one because we are a wealthy nation who can afford the people and resources to keep the world peace and the other because we demonstrate democracy and freedom in our actions.

I think most Americans would prefer that we don't spend our tax dollars and the lives of our young people defending the people of other countries against their own governments, but as we are in the best position to do so and to prevent a nuclear war, we step in to try to keep stability in a largely unstable world.

By the way, it is correct to capitalize America!

Damn good question. A question that many Americans are asking as well. I, for one, don't think we should be acting like the world's cop. Kosovo was a good example of a situation where America didn't belong. If the Europeans did not like what was going on there, let them take care of it. Why we still have troops stationed in countries that no longer need our protection. Let Europe and Asia protect themselves. We should bring our troops home from Europe, Japan, and a myriad of other places and secure our own borders.

I don't know if you are American or other, but I can tell you this: Most Americans are very unhappy with the present "POLICING" of our GOV'T. Please keep in mind that we, the people ,cannot control our gov't any more than other people in their country can. It's like, the gov't is our "father" and who can control your Dad???? We just have to live by the "rules" our "father" sets down to us. I have no real answer to WHY OUR GOV'T does the things it does, but I can assume it's because it thinks it's helping others, though , as I said, our general population doesn't agree with it all the time!

I think America is well respected by most countries because they try to set a good example by doing the right thing. They try to help every country that they can during disasters, tragedies, etc. They practice, "Do unto others as you'd have others do unto you." A lot of countries are jealous of America and try to harm us. God Bless America.

Because everyone else is a selfish s.o.b. We have to because the UN sure as he** aint gonna do anything.

I have a question for you, why is America under a constant microscope? Everyone points out our problems yet they dont look in the mirror and point out their own problems, hypocrites?
