You're assuming that atheists judge to the same extent that you do. Frankly I don't care if someone wants to be a priest - it's not an easy job, the money's not great, and it involves a lot of sacrifice. Priests can do a good job in impoverished communities. I never think about them. I wish them no harm. They are rarely stupid people in the way that, perhaps, the asker of this question could be described as.
For an atheist, being a priest perhaps represents at worst perhaps a waste of time. But not as much time as being a passive, complacent worshipper, who rarely does a damned thing to help anyone else (because "good works count for nothing", right?). If a person achieves good, it doesn't matter why they do it or why they believe. That's what an atheist thinks.

You are right. On certain point of view; there is smart compare with other, there is nut. If the priest contribute his life for religious, I mean if he really put down himself including religious, he is a happy guy to lead people to a happy land , at least his happy land. What is a stupid thing again? He is Stupid? Or I am Stupid.

If it makes you happy, do your thing. Priests (at least the majority) try to be good people, and they have a hard job of listening to people and consoling them. I will admit I got a little annoyed when I learned how much my dad's priest was making a year, but I'll bite my tongue.

As a skeptic I respect the belief of anyone. If a person chooses to devote their life to a cause or way of life that is directed in a certain way, that is their right. As long as they acknowledge my right to not believe, everything is cool.

It's weird to me and I would be shocked. Then I would look for the reason why that priest became a priest!! I would be very suspicious!! It would be worth finding out why he was there.

I find it far less stupid than those who say they believe and don't live that way. I mean if I really though eternity was at stake, I would be right there. It always makes me wonder how much people really believe.

If it makes the priest feel good it's cool.
If it makes the pastor some money, how is he any different than a used car salesman?

No-whatever you're into. It's a personal choice and I have no particular viewpoint on it. How people want to live their lives isn't an issue for me to comment upon as long as they aren't affecting others.

I wouldn't say stupid. Not a job I would choose obviously, but people are entitled to their beliefs.
