we fear of being alone.. especially when we feel that we will eventually lose the ones we hold near to our hearts. Can we live a life with happiness without feeling this way?

It is part of our DNA. Which is why God made Eve. He Said it is not good for Man to be alone. Just like we need water to drink we need some sort of companionship. And this is why we have so many people doing crazy things, because their view of companionship/friendship/love has been damaged and skewed.

This is why you have girls sleeping with the whole football team. They are only looking for that acceptance and companionship that they did not receive from their parents (especially father) while growing up. The examples are endless. Some view hell as a place "of fire and brimstone & seperate from God" Whether there is fire or not, God won't be hanging out there, which is the real punishment presented. Have you ever got lost in a Dept Store when you were 5 or 6. Thats Fear!

I personally have little Fear in Life. I have my hope in Christ & I know my future after death. So what do i have to fear? However i do fear leaving my wife all alone having to miss me and take care of everything, And my Parents Missing me, and things of the like.

The basic emotion of a person is self preservation. We are always
in a fear so that we do not get annihilated! Every law is an infraction
of liberty.Because law restricts your liberty you are always afraid
that you may not be on the right side of the law.
You must be philosophical in life.Beings who were not there will
not be there. There is nothing to be afraid of that. By cultivating
friendship, helping other people in distress, raising a family you can cure your loneliness.
If you can curb your lust, anger, greed, attachement and jealousy
then you can live happily without fear.

As long as man remain an emotional being, then the answer to your question will be no. The thing is to learn to enjoy the inherents benefits of solitude. Thomas De Quincy in his Confessions of an English Opium Eater stated that the ability to alternate solitude with company is a constituent of human happiness. I think he is very right. Think about it.

Due to so many insecurities, some of them which we make up in our minds, excessive worrying, extreme sensitivity to the outside world and our surroundings etc we live in fear. The minute we lose this fear we are able to relax.Every time you feel fear, try to identify what is the source of it and meditate over it.Ask your self why? and try to concentrate on your breath-inhaling and exhaling and slowly you feel fear disappaer.try it
