Mia never go's out side so she doesn't have fleas. I have a good pet brush and also one that is a glove I've been giving her more brushing and I am seeing some improvement. I am getting some very good advice. I think I'll take her to the grommer.

I'm not an expert in this area, but she might just be dehydrated. My Poppy used to have dandruff until I switched her to a good quality all canned food diet.
Cats do not naturally like to drink water - they're not designed that way. They're meant to get enough moisture IN their food that they rarely ever have to take a drink. The food they eat in the wild is quite moist, as is canned food.
I highly recommend you do some reading from the links I'm providing, and get started converting her to a better (I assume) diet.

Ok mom, get a brush made for animals first of all, then try feeding her some food that has fish oil, regular tuna with oil is good, and yes she's going to want this ALL the time once you feed it to her, but remember who's the one who buys her food?? So give her half a can every other day and she'll catch on and still beg every day but once she gets the days straight it'll be easier to tell her no, AND the oil will help soften her furrrr

Take your cat to the vet. Her dry skin could be an allergic reaction to the food you're giving her, or something else in the house. Have a regular allergy test done. The vet may be able to give her a medication to help soften her skin and get rid of the allergy.

ABSOLUTELY! It's called a GROOMER! You will find several in your phone book, or better yet, if you have a friend who can refer you to someone they use for dog or cat, doesn't matter. And those white flecks may NOT be dandruff---they may be flea eggs. Please get this baby to the groomer just as soon as possible. And, you might want to consider having them take the length of her hair down some---this helps also. Talk to one who knows---I HAVE to take my big boy to the groomer at least twice, sometimes 3 times a year. Good luck.

Add a little corn oil to her food. My cat loves the taste and it "undries" her fur...is much silkier to the hand. I understand it's also very good for the cat nutritionally. A bottle of Mazola would last 6 months

I simply give my cats a bowl with some milk and raw eggs (I know it sounds gross....But it works!) once a week or so (too often will make their poo runny!) when their skin is like that.....Also the oil is a pretty good idea...She probably grooms herself fine and I like that you brush her too...I am sure she really enjoys that!.....Might be an allergy but I doubt it.....i get dry skin in the winter too..lol....Keep lovin' her and she will be just fine...ss
