Ive been a member for 5 months, I think I have died and gone to heaven. The ratio of men to women is 99 to 1, so that explains why I average 50-75 emails a day. In the begining it was over 100 emails a day.
While I am not looking for love, I am not looking to hook up with someone one time so it eliminates 90% of the men due to location. The other 9% because of age or they are not someone I could enjoy being with. The 2 new friends with benefits I have made I see on a regular basis, both would not typically be my type of guy but now that we have gotten aqauainted with each other it is like having 2 boyfriends I do my thing with and I keep my career and friends seperate from those guys.
Dating has never been a problem, but last year I was dealing with a family member stricken with cancer, lost another family member to cancer, it was affecting a relationship I was in and my job. It was one true moment of weakness that I came across AFF and decided to try and give myself one outlet to the stress I was under.
My advice would be to find a member who lives very close to you, get to know her a bit and make sure you are looking for the same thing. Dont waste your time emailing hottties 50 miles away, just find someone who you could have a casual relationship with nearby. Dont mistake the website as a place where hot chicks and ugly chicks just have some dying fantasy to sleep with every man who wants to get it on. Outside of cyberspace women hold the upper hand and the same is true in cyberspace. I will admit I have no plans on leaving AFF anytime soon, and some of my friends have gotten so tired of me being out on dates all the time they have joined.

I used it for a while but got the impression that a lot of the responses I got were faked by the people that run AFF - contacts that sounded way too good to be true and never seemed to respond back to you, even though they contacted you. I suspect they were generated by a 'bot'. I met a friend on AFF, but nothing serious.

yes i have and dont believe the advertising most of the people (male and female) are looking for something long term ---- and it can be fun to just talk ---- i met a few ladies and no it was not for just sex --- it was looking for something much more stable and permanent --- then i found the love of my life quite by accident in the chat room
