Not my friends
and they are people that are trying to get out of trouble, so they are people that do not know how to take responsibility for their own actions.

There are 2 types of snitches.
1. Good citizen who is willing to talk to police
2. Criminal who got caught and is singing like a bird so they don't go away!
If your a cop, you love them both. If your a criminal, you hate them both.
I think it is funny how criminals always spout off about how they "know their rights!" But when somebody else exercises THEIR right to freedom of speech (to the cops) then they are a SNITCH or RAT. The truth is snitches and rats always keep scumbags looking over their shoulders and make them more paranoid than the first time they smoked weed. Have you ever heard a criminal say, "I can't trust anybody!"? Snitches are why and its a beautiful thing.
Hey Mark S...How do you know you can trust more people than me? You don't know me!!! Here is what I know about you though. You have been to prison twice, with multiple perps involved....YOU ARE A FALL GUY!!! Hard pill to swallow I'm sure. Secondly, you want to see someone get azz raped? Come on man, wanting to see someone get raped? Sounds like the pen didn't treat you right.

The term "snitches" is a pathetic use of a word! It is more appropriately a descriptive term for those who attempt to condemn others who are trying to make their community a better place.
The term is most often used when referring to one who provides law enforcement with information concerning illegal drug activities.
In my opinion, communities as a whole, would be safer environments if residents would become more involved in the issues that make their neighborhoods unsafe.
What is truely sad is that those who employ the term "snitch" would be the first in line if it were they who were wearing the handcuffs looking at "hard time."
Additionally, if their own family member were the victim of a crime...be it drugs, thefts, or even homicide, do you think for a moment, if THEY knew who was responsible that they would not step forward and provide the needed information to solve that crime....experience shows that they would!
I can only say that if you think a person who provides information to help law abiding citizens live and commute in a safer environment is bad...then you should spend more time considering a more legitimate way of life instead of preying upon others!

Well criminals get offended when they find that they cannot depend on other criminals to lie for them (at their expense) so they, and the popular culture (movies) paint informants as some heinous character. Sometimes people give information because they are also in trouble and use it as a bargaining chip to get a lesser sentence, its what criminals do to other criminals. Do I care? Nope. Do I think I should sympathize with the offended criminal because he is being brought to justice for committing a crime against some innocent person. Nope. But sometimes people who are characterized as rats, snitches, etc. are just ordinary people who happen to know that someone is committing a crime. Get all worked up if you want, but I am glad peope come forward and put people in jail.

Hopefully they are as honest as they would like others to be. Why are you worried about something you did? I think they are very brave people. I think others are cowards, if they let a wrong continue with out doing something about it. I for one would turn someone in if they broke the law. I would not think twice about it. The word snitches is only used by a wrong doer or a wrong doers friend and I could care less about what someone like that thinks. They would not be the kind of people I would want anything to do with in the first place. So please label me a Snitch. It would be an honor.

We all know how this debate is going to go. The people that are doing illegal things will say " I hate snitches" and the decent people in society including police officers will say "Yeah snitches are great"
I think they're a good tool for the police to use. If you want to break the law you deserve to get caught no matter what it takes.

To some they are considered strong. The way I look at it, if my best friend was selling weed, and I called the cops on him, then a. I am not a true friend, and b. it is just taking the easy way out. People snitch for ´their´ convenience, not to try to save the world.

They keep the idiots from taking over the world that are doing crimes. I have no problem with people doing their civic duty. If you aren't a criminal you have nothing to worry about, do you?
The best part is criminals love to brag and run their mouths and this is how "snitches" stay in business.

It depends on the overall picture. If someone is reporting someone for dealing drugs or the person has info on someone that raped a women or killed someone they in my opinion are good people. But some people can go overboard and report EVERYTHING to the police. But overall I think they are good people helping to keep their city or town clean of scum.

If its a crime that they have witnessed, then they're good citizens doing their duty. But people who call the police because the neighbors dog pooped on their sidewalk,or somebody's kids cut across their lawn,or other inconsequential sh*t like that are whack jobs.

A great number of crimes are solved by people who are willing to speak to police. Informants are a necessary and important part of law enforcement.
