no it is not appropiate to take children to a college party, some parents just don't care I guess.

"Why do people with kids always try to force their kids onto people who do not have kids?"

Probably to serve as a warning to always use birth control lol.

Seriously though, family celebrations where there are children and alcohol in the same room are one thing, but taking your child to a college party? No no no! If they can't get a babysitter then they should stay at home.

NO.

Parents should check with the hosts prior to any party other than family get togethers whether there is alcohol or not.

Some people do not want others little darlings tearing around the house unsupervised.

I've been to a birthday party at a fine dining restaurant and the invitation stated that it was for adults only. Nothing wrong with that.

I totally agree with Witchywoo...family get togethers where children and drinking are present is somewhat acceptable. It is a more controllable environment. A college party is NO PLACE for kids...way too extreme for children.

How would the parents enjoy themselves anyway if they had to mind their children??? Find a sitter!

OMG!!!! NOOOOO!!!!! That is grossly inappropriate. and I don't know who your friends are but you need to raise the bar. A good parent protects and shelters their kids and does not push them on anybody or take them to a college party where drinking in involved. Perhaps they've never heard of the criminal charge "contributing to the deliquency of a minor".

you know kids know that we drink, but to take them to a party like that is not right because then they see adults acting ( some times not ) stupid....or like adults and its all adults there anyway.. theres nothing for them to do.

They hope that someone there will baby sit for them or get them off their hands for even a few minutes or hour it's a relief enough for them.

It is inappropriate, if you believe that the mere presence of alcohol will harm the children.

I would disagree with that premise.

You should choose your friends more carefully. That's not the case in my social circle.

No it is not. It is damaging to the child's psychological well being.
