Now that the Democrats have control again I hear from our accountant that they are tring (again) to pass the law that makes everyone collect state sales tax on sales. In other words if you buy something from California you will pay their sales tax. This will also effect internet sales because companies will now have to collect the '50 states' state tax on everything they sell. Sounds like an accounting nightmare not to mention the '$ucking $ound' out of the economy/your pocket when this goes into effect!

This must be happening quietly because I can find nothing on the proposed law. Anyone heard of it and do you know where to get info about it?

Thanks

There is no such legislation pending. Two years ago, the REP controlled house tried to push such a bill through but it died in committee.

If anything comes tax-wise from the Democratic controlled Congress, look for tax RELIEF for the working stiff -- i.e., you and I for the most part -- and a rollback of the tax breaks for the wealthy. If you make about $150k or less, you'll probably save on taxes. If you make more than about $250k, it's going to cost you.

Wive's tale. It will never fly. The Democrats will, however, tax the bejesus out of everything else (especially the working man) all the while cheering their "surplus" and hand most of it over to welfare and social programs further encouraging people to not work.
