they are fraud officers who work for the deparment of social security here in the uk they investigate people suspected of defrauding the benefits system claiming benefits they are not entitled to whether it be working on the side or claiming someone is not living with you like a partner and then you as a claimant saying you live on your own they collect information for the dss and then decide what to do
