I live in a southern New England state that is considering putting a tax on fishing in Long Island Sound. This is outrageous. People fish for the sport, but primarily to get fresh fish and not pay over $8.00 per pound for it. Please give your opinion.

I'm always skeptical of taxes anyway...this is simply away for your lawmakers to fleece more money out of you. And for what? this from someone in northern NE in the most heavily taxed state in the nation...its not too long before were all going to have to ask if everyone is done with our paycheck before we cash it

Offer an alternative. Government does cost money.....we either need to cut services...which helps some but hurts others, or find new revenue sources, which hurts some but helps others..it would be best to grow the economy and increase the tax base, but in the past 7 years that has not happened.

That is ridiculous. I hope they don't try that where I live or a whole lot of people who fish to supplement their income will be in bad shape!
