Hmm

Let's see here, the western media the biased and evil western media, when I thought the first time I heard of Islam hmm for some reason I remember the western media being responsible for associating a phrase with that religion, "the religion of peace".

How odd that now we have a Muslim sayings the media is biased against Islam.

It appears that anyone who does not agree or is not complimentary towards Islam... well accorrding to Muslims that person is biased.

Where are your sources about this fastest growing religion claim? I keep hearing this claim and the one source I heard of was CNN and well aren't they part of the so called biased, lying western media?

Maybe the perception isn't that all Muslims are terrorist but that we saw that Muslims did not speak against so called extremist/islam hijackers with even 1/100th the loudness and strength they used to speak out against the Pope and some silly cartoons.

Personally, I don't think that Islam is a "terrorist religion". I do think though, that extremism is bad in ANY religion; at least where that extremism attempts to impose on the unwilling, the beliefs of that religion or idealism.

There are extremists in Islam, and there are extremists in Christianity, The Christian extremists in the United States are those who wish to impose the laws of the Bible upon the entire nation; it's the same with Islam extremists in some countries.

As far as personal research, I've read parts of the Koran, and have my own copy which I use when trying to understand some of the items pointed out by individuals. I try not to jump to conclusions. I also have copies of the Bible, in various translations that I use as well.

Personally, I'm a Pagan, but I don't respond to specific Biblical or Koran quotations without reading and trying to understand first.

Well my friend that is why the media, which once used to be a source of individual knowledge and freedom is now a corrupting force causing millions to hate billions and also causing millions to create morals in their lives based on the morals created by the likes of our freinds @ CNN, FOX, and so on. We must realize that these are stations owned by Democrats and Republicans so therefore they only show what they speak of such as sucide bombings by Muslims, therefore causing millions of Americans to view Islam as evil. Media basically takes braindead indivduals and brainwashes them into believing what is right and wrong. FOX reports of cases of sucide bombings in Israel however it refuses to report the death of a British reporter, who was shot in the head by an Israeli sniper. The reporter a young Brit went to help a Palestinian child from an oncoming Humvee when he was shot in the head while he was wearing both a helmet and vest, which recognized him a foreign aids worker. Now if FOX and CNN could report these stories then our fellow Americans would a smarter and more rational breed, however it wont happen unless the people create their own broadcasting such as Liveleak and BBC. People will not search for the "truth" when they are in a state of fear caused purposely by the leaders of the extremely incompetent American government.

Well I have been on a few of the websites and frankly they scare the crap out of me worse than anything the media says.

Look the Muslims have a huge problem with the radical side right now. There are hundreds of thousands at Hamas rallies, not a few. There are large crowds in the streets of Iran after Friday prayers EVERY week saying they want to kill westerners. I could go on and on. You can deny that fact all day, but these guys are going to start WWIII if the moderate side doesn't do something to stop them.

I have only seen two Muslims that regularly speak out against it, and they both live behind bullet proof glass. You need to look at what is really happening and stop blaming those who notice.

Until recently I knew nothing about the religion, but I took an International Studies course about Islam and learned so much. It's really a fascinating religion, and not that dissimilar to Christianity.

I have read the Koran, and I have yet to see any media bias against Islam. I have seen alot of back peddling, especially when it comes to cartoonists, but I haven't seen any media bias.
Do you recommend that instead of forming my own opinions I take the "biased" opinion of a practitioner of the religion being discussed. I really don't think that's an option, and I really think you need to look up the word bias.

Dude, you should add this:

How many of you learn Islam through the Qu'ran, Hadith and a real knowledgable Muslim?

Did you just read some article on the internet and suddenly you're an expert on Islam?

Not many, sadly,
1 out of every 4 people on earth is muslim, so if Islam really taught hate and terror, things would be much different.

It probably has a lot to do with people driving planes into skyscrapers, strapping bombs to themselves in the name of Allah, and attempting to blow up airplanes with explosives in their underwear and shoes, among other reasons. Until MAINSTREAM Islam stands up and condemns those actions, and quits funneling money their way, you're rightfully going to be held just as responsible as the ones committing the acts.

Due to the fact that it is the fastest growing faith in the world, then that shows that more people are learning about the truth of islam. :)
