a guy was double dating but wants to resolve issues with his past relationship and wants the present date to hang on for him so as to resolve issues. is it necessary for the lady to keep hanging on

Someone wanting to work through their personal issues is not a sign of love for another person...it's a sign of love/caring for themselves.
Nobody needs to "hang on" or wait unless they want to. There's no guarantee the person they are waiting for will ever want to be with them anyway so it's a gamble...one can wait and hope (and risk disappointment, which is likely unfortunately) or move forward and do what they want and if they are still available when that other person is ready, then they can see if they are both still interested in exploring a relationship with one another.

Hell no resolve what from the past sounds like an excuse he has had plenty of time to do that already, if i were you i would move on inorder to move on in the future you have to stop living in the past.

NOT ENOUGH INFORMATION.....it depends if he's tryin to fix the previous relationship or if he needs to resolve issues that are effecting him right now (i.e. trusting people, financial, divorce, children) if he's trying to better himself waiting would be awesome if he's hookin back up with his ex dont be a fool he most likely isn't comin back...

Personally i would not hang on, dosen't sound as if he has a clue what he wants. And to me that is a turn off in a man. Find someone who is totally into you and you only.

no it is not. probably he is trying to get back with her while u hanging on, his idea is to keep u waiting in case he gets rejected by his past relationship. if u r not sure about his love it is time to fly.

sometimes its best to let him fix himself up, none of us will ever be able to say if he loves you, the best person to know is him. If he could fix his problems, then maybe just maybe things will turn out in your favor, but dont let this be an anticipation of you waiting for this to happen.
