We live in Michigan...may not matter as to the prices that I put on high quality girls clothing for my garage sale this spring. She has good shape stuff from "Children's Place", "Macy's, etc. I have never held a garage sale where I have included her stuff and want to get your feed back on prices. Thanks!

hm.. You're not going to get as much money as you think you are at a garage sale for used clothes. I generally make this rule when having my own

Tshirts between $1 - $1.50
Pants $2-$4 (depending on if there are any stains or rips)
Shoes $4
Socks .50 to $1
Accessories (make a bin for 50 cents per item)

Hope I helped!

I go to alot of Garage sales as i travel alot. I also hold 2 or 3 a year myself. Pricing varies from one part of the country to the other. I have a home in missouri and one in Utah. What i've found is that high quality clothing items sell for alot less in missouri than in Utah. Generally if the clothing items are in really good shape people will get 5% of the current retail price on a similar item sold in stores in Missouri. In Utah it ranges from 10% to 20% for same item.

you have to understand a lot of factors.

since it is a garage sale people would expect things under 10 and usually things over 10 are electronics, cabinets, drawers, etc. since it isn't brand new and it is used, no matter what brand it is, it shouldn't be more than 10 bucks. if you are selling jewelry, there is no way to tell if it is real so no one would really buy something for 100 bucks.

but garage sales are meant for extra cash. if you have a lot of stuff you can make 100-200$ or even more. goodluck

Put a price on the items that you feel is fair, but not comparable to what you'd normally pay for the same clothes in a store! [After all, the clothes you're selling have been worn at least once and aren't brand new]. Keep your mind open to negotiating the price down if you can find a buyer eager enough to take everything!

Good Luck!

People typically expect something for nothing at garage sales...a couple to a few dollars for clothing items, depending on what they are, is about all you can get around here (FL).

If you feel they are worth real money consider taking them to a consignment shop or selling them on eBay.

it's a garage sale!, cheap $1.00, but then again I think the goodwill charges, about $5 a pair for old, stinky, used, and nasty pants.
